Banking News – Nepal Police have arrested a 28-year-old fugitive who had been convicted in a theft and robbery case and sentenced to five years in prison.

The arrested individual has been identified as Akash Yadav, a resident of Birgunj Metropolitan City-30, Parsa.

According to police, the Parsa District Court, in its verdict dated April 4, 2025 (Chaitra 22, 2081 BS), sentenced Yadav to five years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 after finding him guilty in the theft and robbery case.

Following the court’s decision, Yadav had remained at large until a team from the Parsa District Police Office apprehended him on Saturday afternoon from Bindabasini, Birgunj Metropolitan City-19.

Police said further legal procedures are underway.
