Banking News – Nepal’s non-life insurance companies collected more than Rs. 50.60 billion in gross written premiums (GWP) during the fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS), according to the latest data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority.

The country’s 14 operating non-life insurers generated a combined Rs. 50.6031 billion in gross premiums during the review period, up from Rs. 43.9587 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year (2024/25). During the year, the insurers issued a total of 2,966,195 insurance policies, with every non-life insurer reporting growth in premium income compared to the previous year.
Shikhar Insurance remained the market leader, collecting Rs. 6.5112 billion in gross premiums during the fiscal year.
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance ranked second with Rs. 5.4222 billion, followed by Himalayan Everest Insurance in third place with Rs. 5.3741 billion in gross premium collections.
Among the other insurers:
- IGI Prudential Insurance collected Rs. 4.5511 billion.
- Siddhartha Premier Insurance recorded Rs. 4.3174 billion.
- NLG Insurance earned Rs. 4.2079 billion.
- Neco Insurance collected Rs. 3.6550 billion.
- Oriental Insurance reported Rs. 3.2521 billion.
- United Ajod Insurance generated Rs. 3.1162 billion.
- Sanima GIC Insurance collected Rs. 3.0820 billion.
- Nepal Insurance recorded Rs. 2.2162 billion.
- Prabhu Insurance earned Rs. 2.0228 billion.
- Rastriya Beema Company collected Rs. 1.5837 billion.
- National Insurance reported Rs. 1.2907 billion in gross premiums.
The latest figures indicate continued expansion in Nepal’s non-life insurance sector, with all insurers posting year-on-year growth in premium collections during the fiscal year.
