Banking News – Aren Rai, a lawmaker from the Shram Sanskriti Party, has accused Prime Minister Balen Shah of failing to take the country’s current situation seriously, urging him to step down if he is unable to effectively lead the nation.

Speaking during Thursday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Rai said the government should not remain passive but instead actively engage with the public, gather information, and work to maintain peace and security.

“If the Prime Minister or the current government is unable to run the country, they should raise their hands and admit it. That is an option. There are 282 lawmakers in Parliament—someone else can lead the country,” Rai said.

The lawmaker warned the government against avoiding its responsibilities, saying it should either perform its duties actively or acknowledge its inability to govern and pave the way for alternative leadership.

“The country cannot be run in an orphaned state. The people must not be left without leadership. Therefore, the government must either step up and act or admit it cannot continue,” he added.

Rai also appealed to citizens across the country—from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west—to remain calm and exercise restraint. He further criticized Prime Minister Shah for not withdrawing his controversial remarks on border issues made two months ago, stating that the issue remained unresolved even in Parliament.
