Banking News – Speaker of Nepal’s House of Representatives Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal held a farewell courtesy meeting with European Union Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo on Tuesday at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed Nepal–European Union relations, parliamentary cooperation, economic partnership, development collaboration, and other issues of mutual interest.

Speaker Aryal noted that Nepal has remained on the European Union’s Air Safety List since 2013 and said removing the country from the list remains a priority for the government. He expressed hope for the European Union’s continued support and cooperation in advancing that process.

He also highlighted the government’s focus on good governance, transparency, anti-corruption efforts, employment generation, infrastructure development, and economic growth.

Aryal further stated that Nepal has recently established parliamentary friendship groups with several European Union member states and plans to form a similar group with the European Union in the near future. He added that regular meetings of the Nepal–EU Joint Commission and high-level visits have played a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations and expressed confidence that cooperation would continue to expand.

Ambassador Lorenzo expressed her gratitude for the support and goodwill extended by the Government of Nepal, the Federal Parliament, and the Nepalese people during her tenure. She also voiced confidence that the longstanding friendship and partnership between Nepal and the European Union would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
