Banking News – Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited (MBL) has partnered with the Government of Nepal’s Taxpayer Reward Program by introducing the ‘Bill Jitaun’ feature on its MBL M-Smart Mobile Banking App, allowing customers to participate seamlessly in the incentive scheme.

The initiative supports the Inland Revenue Department’s (IRD) taxpayer reward campaign introduced under the Fiscal Year 2083/84 Budget, which aims to encourage consumers to request VAT bills, promote digital payments, and strengthen transparency in Nepal’s tax system.

Under the program, customers who purchase goods or services worth more than Rs. 100 for personal use within Nepal and make payments through a merchant QR code will have their eligible transactions automatically included in the Inland Revenue Department’s reward system, eliminating the need for separate registration.

Using the ‘Bill Jitaun’ section in the MBL M-Smart App, customers can view the number of eligible transactions, access transaction details, and check whether they have won any rewards.

According to the Inland Revenue Department, one lucky consumer will receive a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 (after applicable tax deduction) through a daily lucky draw, while one grand prize winner will receive Rs. 1 million every 15 days from among all eligible transactions.

Machhapuchchhre Bank has encouraged customers to pay more than Rs. 100 via merchant QR codes, request PAN/VAT bills, keep their invoices safely, and regularly check the ‘Bill Jitaun’ menu in the app to monitor their eligibility and reward status.

The bank reaffirmed its commitment to making digital banking more convenient, secure, and customer-friendly while continuing to support the government’s initiatives to expand digital payments, tax compliance, and financial transparency across Nepal.
