Banking News – Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in Bhaktapur for allegedly possessing and concealing the skin of a red panda (habre) illegally.

The arrested individual has been identified as Bhupendra Bahadur Kathayat, a resident of Thantikandh Rural Municipality-4, Dailekh. Police recovered the red panda skin from Room No. 401 of Resunga Thakali & Kitchen Hotel in Dudhpati, Bhaktapur Municipality-1.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, conducted a search of the hotel and found the red panda skin allegedly concealed by Kathayat.

Police said Kathayat has been handed over to the Division Forest Office, Bhaktapur, for further investigation and legal action.
