Banking News – Nepal Telecom has reported a 47.58 percent increase in net profit during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83, with the company earning Rs. 8.86 billion in net profit during the review period.
According to the company’s financial statements, Nepal Telecom’s net profit stood at Rs. 8.86 billion, compared with Rs. 6.00 billion in the corresponding period of fiscal year 2081/82.

The company’s total operating income reached Rs. 34.95 billion, an increase of 3.12 percent, or Rs. 1.06 billion, compared with the previous fiscal year.
Similarly, Nepal Telecom’s total income increased by 2.65 percent to Rs. 39.20 billion during the review period.
The company’s profit before tax reached Rs. 13.26 billion, representing a 34.66 percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) stood at Rs. 20.48 billion.
Nepal Telecom’s earnings per share (EPS) currently stands at Rs. 49.25.
According to the financial statement, the company’s GSM revenue increased by Rs. 645.4 million, or 2.28 percent. However, the company reported a decline in interest income due to the gradual reduction in interest rates.
Nepal Telecom said its interest income fell by approximately Rs. 861.9 million, or 22.88 percent, compared with the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year, primarily due to the gradual decline in interest rates.
