Banking News – Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has handed over prize money to the winners of the bumper prize and Rs. 100,000 cash prize under the first fortnight of the Shrawan Taxpayer Incentive Award. He presented the prizes to the winners during a ceremony held at the Ministry on Monday to announce the second fortnight’s taxpayer incentive awards for Shrawan.
Hemraj Joshi of Dhangadhi won the Rs. 1 million bumper prize during the first fortnight of Shrawan. He won the prize after purchasing a Rs. 250 electric bulb. Finance Minister Wagle handed Joshi a cheque worth Rs. 1 million.

On the occasion, Minister Wagle congratulated Joshi and urged him to become an ambassador for the government’s taxpayer incentive program. He also encouraged Joshi to use the prize money for productive purposes.
“Congratulations, Hemrajji. You are the first bumper prize winner. Become an ambassador for this government program and help spread the message that bills should be issued and received in society,” Minister Wagle said.
Similarly, Himal Aryal of Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, who won the Rs. 133,334 prize, also received his prize from Finance Minister Wagle. Aryal won the prize from a transaction made while having ice cream with his friends.
After a 25 percent tax deduction, Aryal received Rs. 100,000 in cash as the net prize amount. The department said other winners from the first fortnight will receive their cash prizes from the Inland Revenue Office later this week.
