Banking News – Ncell has partnered with Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Company Limited in Nepal, to provide connected vehicle services in the country. Under the partnership, every BYD vehicle sold in Nepal will be equipped with an Ncell Internet of Things (IoT) SIM, enabling customers to enjoy a more seamless and digitally connected driving experience.

The partnership further strengthens Ncell’s position in Nepal’s IoT innovation sector and reflects its continued commitment to promoting connected technology across various industries.

With the IoT SIM installed, BYD vehicles will have access to in-vehicle internet connectivity without requiring an additional device. The service will support the BYD app ecosystem and connected infotainment features, allowing users to access online services and digital entertainment such as YouTube, Spotify and karaoke directly through the vehicle’s system without connecting a phone or relying on a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The availability of features will depend on the vehicle, software model and services available in Nepal. Customers will benefit from Ncell’s nationwide network coverage through the IoT SIM, although the user experience may vary depending on network coverage, location and vehicle configuration.

Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony in Kathmandu, Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upang Dutta said the partnership would bring smart connectivity, infotainment, safety and intelligent mobility features to BYD vehicles. He said direct vehicle connectivity for the BYD app and popular infotainment services would help users stay connected without depending on external hotspots or mobile data. Local network connectivity would also support more reliable navigation, whether users are on the road or stuck in traffic, he added.

The partnership will benefit both new and existing BYD customers. Existing BYD vehicle owners can visit any of the 13 authorized BYD service centers across Nepal to install the Ncell IoT SIM in their vehicles and access the available connected services.

Expressing enthusiasm over the partnership, Cimex Inc. Chief Executive Officer Sahil Shrestha said BYD has always been at the forefront of technological innovation. He said the collaboration with Ncell represents another important step toward enhancing the customer experience, adding that reliable in-vehicle connectivity would enable users to fully experience the intelligent features of BYD vehicles.
