Banking News – A special worship ceremony was held today at the Pashupatinath Temple. According to the temple authorities, 325 devotees performed special prayers by paying the prescribed offering fee set by the temple trust. As per the lunar calendar, today is the last Monday of the month. Last Monday, approximately 300 devotees had performed special worship.

Kedarman Bhandari, a member of the Pashupati Area Development Trust’s Executive Council, informed that devotees have been offering prayers, worship, and paying homage at the Pashupatinath Temple since early morning.

Being the fourth and final Monday of the month of Shrawan as per the lunar calendar, devotees are still queuing up to offer prayers and worship at the Pashupatinath Temple. Bol Bom pilgrims had been standing in line since 2:00 AM. The four gates of Pashupatinath were opened only at 4:00 AM today.

The gates had been opened at 3:00 AM for the four Mondays as per the solar calendar. Sushil Kumar Gautam, an archaeologist at the Trust’s Culture Conservation Division, said the gates were opened at 4:00 AM only because no decision had been made regarding the Monday as per the lunar calendar. The presence of devotees at the Pashupati area today was comparable to that of the Mondays of Shrawan as per the solar calendar. The Trust stated that since festivals are celebrated according to the lunar calendar, there is a significant presence of devotees at the Pashupati area on Mondays as per the lunar calendar as well.
