US Announces $500,000 Aid for Rasuwa Flood Victims

Banking News – The United States government has announced humanitarian assistance of $500,000 (approximately Rs 7 crore 60 lakh) for communities affected by the flood in Rasuwa district.

In a media note issued by the US Embassy in Kathmandu, the US State Department stated that it is closely monitoring the situation following the flood in Rasuwa. The embassy has also informed that preparations are underway to deploy a disaster response advisor to support relief and response efforts in the affected areas.

According to the embassy, the amount will be made available through a global grant provided to Catholic Relief Services by the State Department. The assistance will support affected communities with emergency shelter, relief materials, and essential water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

The US government expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the flood and extended sympathy to all those affected. The US Embassy in Kathmandu has also stated that it is closely coordinating with local authorities to locate and provide necessary assistance to US citizens in the flood-affected areas.
