Banking News – Prime Minister Balendra Shah “Balen” has arrived in Nuwakot to assess the damage, rescue, and relief efforts in the flood-affected areas. Prime Minister Shah, along with Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal, reached Bidur via road this morning. They are scheduled to conduct on-site inspections of the flood-affected areas in Bidur and surrounding regions, as well as gather information from local administration, security agencies, and people’s representatives regarding relief, rescue, rehabilitation, and restoration of disrupted infrastructure.

The devastating flood originating from Tibet caused massive damage in lower riverine areas including Nuwakot through the Bhote Koshi in Rasuwa on Wednesday. Following the flood, Prime Minister Shah had convened a high-level meeting and directed relevant agencies to make rescue and relief efforts more effective.

The Prime Minister’s team is scheduled to assess the condition of damaged roads, bridges, and other physical infrastructure, while issuing necessary directives to deliver relief to affected areas and restore disrupted infrastructure immediately.

The flood has caused physical damage in riverine areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, with some bridges and roads damaged, disrupting vehicular movement. Several individuals, including police personnel, remain unreachable in Rasuwa, while various settlements have suffered damage. The flood flow has also increased risks in settlements along the Trishuli River.
