Banking News – Rescue teams have been deployed to search for individuals who went missing from the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project site. Due to the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River on Bhadau 10, 93 individuals working at the 111 MW project have gone missing.

According to the private secretariat of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, search operations are underway, including aerial reconnaissance, with technical and expert teams deployed via Nepali Army helicopters.

According to information provided by the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN), among those missing after being caught at the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project are 49 employees and two daily-wage workers of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company. Similarly, 35 workers of Sherpa Hydro Construction, four of CDWE, and three of Bhanas Construction, who were engaged in construction work, are also missing.

Among those trapped in the underground desander when the flood struck, four individuals out of six managed to come out on their own after two days of effort. Those who successfully came out have been safely rescued via Nepali Army helicopter.
