Rasuwa Flood: Army Rescues 330, Search Operations Ongoing in Tunnels

Banking News – Rescue operations for citizens affected by the flood in the Bhote Koshi in Rasuwa on Bhadau 10 are being carried out rapidly. Through Nepali Army helicopters, 330 affected individuals have been rescued to safe locations as of 1:30 PM today.

The Nepali Army has deployed technical and expert teams for the search and rescue of those trapped in tunnels of hydropower projects due to the flood. According to the Army, a team is working approximately 15 meters deep inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 hydropower project. Similarly, a team with Army experts is continuing search and rescue operations in the tunnel of Trishuli-3B.

In the tunnel of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower, a joint team of security personnel searched up to approximately 250 meters inside. However, after finding no one there, the team returned, the Nepali Army stated.

Over 8,900 Nepali Army personnel are directly deployed in the flood-affected areas to make rescue operations organized and coordinated. Army teams have been conducting search, rescue, and relief operations by reaching riverbanks, hilly areas, and local homes, according to Shreenath Battalion of the Nepali Army.
