Banking News – The government has appointed registrars in six universities, including Tribhuvan University (TU). Prime Minister and Chancellor of the universities Balendra Shah appointed the academic heads and registrars on the recommendation of the respective university vice-chancellors. Prof. Dr. Anjana Maharjan Singh has been appointed as the Academic Head of TU, while Prof. Ravindra Shivakoti has been appointed as the Registrar. Shivakoti is a professor at TU’s Faculty of Education, while Singh is a professor at the Faculty of Science.

Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa has been appointed as the Registrar of Purbanchal University, Prof. Dr. Nirmala Jamarkattel as the Registrar of Pokhara University, and Prof. Dr. Taradatta Bhatta as the Registrar of Sudurpashchim University. Similarly, Associate Professor Dr. Sudip Thakuri has been appointed as the Registrar of Madhyapashchim University, and Dr. Jeevan Kafle as the Registrar of Rajarshi Janak University. The newly appointed academic heads and registrars took their oath of office and secrecy at a program organized at the Ministry of Education and Sports today.

At the oath-taking program, Minister for Education and Sports Sasmitha Pokharel directed the newly appointed officials to work with teamwork and effective coordination for university reform and overall development. She stated that strong cooperation among university officials, including vice-chancellors and registrars, is essential for higher education reform. Minister Pokharel emphasized that all must move forward responsibly to develop universities as excellent and research-oriented institutions. She also expressed the ministry’s commitment to providing necessary facilitation.

Ministry Secretary Chudamani Poudel expressed confidence that the newly appointed officials would play a significant role in transforming universities and making their work result-oriented. Minister’s Advisor Shailendra Jha stated that the newly appointed officials must play an active role in academic quality, examination system reform, and enhancing university capacity.

Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa stated that universities must focus on producing quality human resources through effective coordination among them. Newly appointed Registrar of Pokhara University Prof. Dr. Nirmala Jamarkattel expressed her commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to her with competence. The program was attended by vice-chancellors of various universities and senior officials of the ministry.
