Banking News – Priya Raj Regmi, Chairman of the Capital Market Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), will participate as a speaker at the Nepal Capital Market Discourse. Regmi, who is also the Chairman of Crystal Kanchanjungha Securities, will be a speaker in the first session titled “Product, Policy and Regulation: The Future of Nepal’s Capital Market.”
Regmi is an experienced entrepreneur, capital market expert, and business leader with extensive experience in Nepal’s financial services, capital market, and private sector businesses. He holds a postgraduate degree in business from Tribhuvan University. Regmi was elected as a member of the Executive Committee from the Associate Category of FNCCI in 2026, following which he became Chairman of FNCCI’s Capital Market Committee. Through this role, he has been actively contributing to policy discussions, private sector initiatives, and various stakeholder issues related to the development, expansion, and strengthening of Nepal’s capital market.

Regmi has been actively involved in Nepal’s capital market sector for a long time. During his tenure and subsequent professional engagements, he has made significant contributions to various discussions, initiatives, and activities related to the development, modernization, and strengthening of Nepal’s securities market.
As an entrepreneur and investor, Regmi’s involvement spans diverse economic sectors including banks and financial institutions, insurance, hydropower, hotels and tourism, investment companies, healthcare services, manufacturing, and agriculture. Such diverse business and investment experience across various sectors has further strengthened his overall understanding of the economic sector. His ability to identify business opportunities, assess risks, and analyze long-term growth and potential has become more effective.
The Nepal Capital Market Discourse, organized by Banking Samachar with NASA Securities as the main sponsor, aims to facilitate comprehensive discussions on Nepal’s capital market. The discourse is being organized with the objective of discussing policy reforms, regulatory conditions and improvements, investor rights and interests, and spreading shareholder education.
The Capital Market Discourse will be held on Bhadau 21 at the Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu. It will feature an inaugural session along with four panel discussions. The first session will be on “Product, Policy and Regulation: The Future of Nepal’s Capital Market,” the second on “Informed Investors, Strong Capital Market: The Role of Awareness and Literacy,” and the third on “Technology and Innovation: The Future of Nepal’s Capital Market.”
The discourse will also include a special duologue with Dr. Gopal Bhatta, Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The panel discussions will cover topics related to regulation and policy formulation, investor education, and technology and innovation in the stock market. The discourse will see participation from the Ministry of Finance, SEBON, Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), CDSC and Clearing, broker companies, merchant banks, commercial and development banks, credit rating agencies, and listed companies. Additionally, members of the House of Representatives, representatives from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), and other international delegates will also be participating.
