Banking News – A total of 1,354 bodies have been recovered as of 10:45 AM Monday due to the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi in Rasuwa.

Among them, 169 bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 196 in Nuwakot, 70 in Dhading, 363 in Chitwan, 75 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 222 in Nawalparasi East, and 221 in Nawalparasi West, totaling 1,354 bodies recovered.

For identification of the recovered bodies, DNA sample collection and necessary procedures have been completed, and a total of 1,044 bodies have been managed (securely buried). A total of 2,570 DNA samples have been collected for body identification, including 1,280 from the deceased and 1,290 from relatives. Additionally, details of 1,293 unidentified bodies have been uploaded on the Nepal Police website.

A total of 7,912 police personnel have been deployed so far for rescue, search, relief distribution, and body management in the flood-affected areas. Search operations are ongoing for 4,077 individuals still missing. Additionally, 3,190 individuals are being housed in holding centers in various districts.

Police have been relocating families from various districts at risk of flooding to safe locations, conducting necessary rescue and search operations in coordination with various agencies and locals, and clearing road blockages in various places.
