Banking News – Deputy Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Narayan Prasad Sharma, has stated that work is underway with the goal of making the capital market technology-friendly despite limited resources.

Speaking at the third session “Technology and Innovation: The Future of Nepal’s Capital Market” of the Nepal Capital Market Discourse 2026, organized by Banking Samachar with NASA Securities as the main sponsor, Sharma noted that Nepal is also keeping pace with neighboring countries India and China in the field of technology.

“SEBON is working on bringing technology-friendly provisions in the Act and making internal systems technology-friendly. For this, we have also studied SEBI’s policy guidance,” Sharma said.

“With the new leadership, we are focused on making SEBON and the market technology-friendly,” he said. “We have faced challenges due to limited resources and means. Now we are preparing to integrate resources and technology.” According to him, SEBON is advancing work to expand the use of technology in the capital market and make services and systems more accessible, modern, and effective.
