Banking News – Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has contributed Rs 7 crore 50 lakh (approximately USD 500,000) to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund to support the Government of Nepal’s efforts for relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of families and communities affected by the recent Bhote Koshi flood. The contribution was handed over to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on September 9, 2026, in the presence of representatives of inDrive Nepal.
The Bhote Koshi flood, caused by a snow and rock avalanche near the Nepal-China border area on August 26, has caused massive human and physical damage in various locations in Rasuwa, as well as downstream areas in Nuwakot and Dhading. Along with the loss of life and property, the disaster has caused widespread damage to homes, schools, bridges, hydropower projects, and other important public infrastructure. Search, rescue, and relief operations are ongoing in the affected areas, while the search for missing persons continues.

Along with the financial contribution to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund, inDrive has provided direct relief to flood-affected communities. Under this, immediate relief materials have been provided to flood-affected families in Bidur Municipality Ward No. 9 in Nuwakot. Under the direct relief assistance, essential items including food supplies, solar lights, induction stoves, blankets, and sanitary pads have been distributed, keeping in mind the immediate needs of affected families. The main objective of this initiative was to provide immediate relief to affected families by providing basic materials necessary for daily life in the difficult post-disaster situation.
Arsen Tomsky, Founder and CEO of inDrive, said, “The devastating flood in Nepal has forced many families and communities to face severe damage and difficult circumstances. We express our deep condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones, homes, or sources of livelihood. Nepal is an important part of the inDrive community, and we want to stand with the Nepali people in this difficult time. We believe this contribution will help deliver necessary support to affected families in need of immediate assistance and contribute to efforts for rehabilitation and reconstruction of affected communities.”
inDrive has expressed deep condolences to families who lost their loved ones in the Bhote Koshi disaster. The company has also expressed solidarity with families still waiting for news of missing relatives and all communities affected by the disaster, stating that it stands with them during this difficult time. Through this assistance, inDrive aims to contribute not only to immediate relief but also to rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts that will help affected communities return to normal life.
