Banking News – A fire broke out in a public bus at the bus stop in front of the Passport Department in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, leaving the driver seriously injured. The fire broke out in a bus of Riddhisiddhi Transport with registration number Ba 5 Kha 4274. Police have stated that Dawa Lama (25), the driver who was inside the bus, was injured in the fire. He was rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to SP Naresh Raj Subedi, Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, fire engines and security personnel immediately reached the incident site after the fire broke out. Although the fire was brought under control, the bus suffered extensive damage. “The driver was injured when the bus caught fire. We rescued him and sent him to the hospital. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway,” SP Subedi said.

According to police, there were no other passengers in the bus at the time of the fire. Police have stated that since the fire broke out while the driver was inside the bus, the incident appears suspicious, and an investigation is being carried out from various angles. It has been stated that the condition of driver Lama, a resident of Kavre, is serious. Police have stated that the cause of the fire could not be determined initially.

SSP Dilip Ghimire, Chief of Kathmandu District Police Range, stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident. Police are gathering further details on how the fire started.
