Banking News – Forty people have been injured in monkey attacks in Nepalgunj. Members of the public have been getting injured in attacks while chasing monkeys. According to Dr. Badri Chapagain, who is studying patients with snakebite and animal bite cases at Bheri Hospital, 40 members of the public injured in monkey attacks in the last one and a half months alone have come to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for treatment.

He stated that cases of patients coming to the hospital after being injured by monkey bites in Nepalgunj are new. “The trend of patients coming to the hospital after being injured by dog, cat, and snake bites is not new,” said Dr. Chapagain. “But it is surprising that monkeys are now entering homes and biting people.” He advised people to stay safe as monkeys are rampant in the city and to go to the hospital immediately for treatment if attacked. Cases of snakebite and animal bite have been increasing at Bheri Hospital recently.

According to data provided by Dr. Chapagain, who is studying snakebite and animal bite patients at Bheri Hospital, there have been 1,036 cases of animal bites in the last 45 days. The highest number was 865 from dog bites, 110 from cat bites, 40 from monkey bites, and 21 patients injured from rat bites. Similarly, Dr. Chapagain stated that 118 patients with snakebites came to Bheri Hospital alone for treatment during this period. During the same period, four patients came to Bheri Hospital for treatment from insect bites and 19 patients where the biting animal was unknown, according to the data.

Dr. Nabin Darnal, Chief Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital, stated that although incidents of monkeys biting farmers occur in villages, the cases in the market area are new. He informed that patients injured by monkey bites are being given anti-rabies vaccine, treating them as wild animal bites, and arrangements have been made to provide services to patients smoothly as needed.
