Banking News – Uber has launched the “Ride for Nepal” campaign with the objective of supporting relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction for Bhote Koshi flood victims. Through the campaign, running from September 21 to October 20, 2026, Uber has committed to contributing Rs 50 lakh to the Nepal Red Cross Society. Uber is providing this assistance through its international CSR fund.

According to Uber, the amount will be used for emergency relief materials, temporary shelter, and rehabilitation work. During the campaign period, Uber will additionally contribute Rs 10 per bike ride and Rs 20 per cab ride completed through Uber to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund from its own side. This amount will not be deducted from Uber passengers or drivers. Passengers will pay the regular fare, and drivers will also receive the same amount as before.

Arjun Kc, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Taximandu, Uber’s strategic partner for Nepal, stated that the participation of passengers and drivers during the time of disaster will make the relief campaign more effective. Akanksha Singh, Uber’s Head of International Markets (India and South Asia), also stated that responsibility toward the community is not limited to mobility services alone. Uber has urged passengers to book rides regularly and drivers to go online, accept rides, and complete trips. Uber has stated that the main objective of the campaign, “More Rides, More Support,” is to connect daily travel with the reconstruction of flood victims.
