Banking News – Kamana Sewa Development Bank Limited conducted an interactive program on financial literacy, life skills, goal setting, and future guidance for about 150 students of classes 9 and 10 at Sarvodaya English Boarding Secondary School, Damak, under the “Sarvodaya Chautari” program organized by the school’s Sarvodaya Children’s Club, as part of the “Children with Inspiring Personalities” program.

Khimlal Bhusal, Chief Guest of the program and Koshi Province Head of Kamana Sewa Development Bank, presented on life skills, self-discipline, decision-making ability, time management, and ways to face challenges. He stated that developing skills necessary for practical life along with academic knowledge is an important foundation for building the future.

Similarly, Sushil Poudel, Branding/CSR and Marketing Head of the bank, shed light on topics including goal setting, future direction, and proper guidance. He encouraged students to identify their interests, abilities, and priorities, set clear goals, transform them into phased plans, and move toward goals through continuous learning and self-evaluation.

The program also discussed financial literacy, basic knowledge about savings and investment, the difference between needs and wants, planned use of money, and responsible financial behavior with practical examples. Emphasis was placed on the fact that the habit of becoming aware of financial decisions from the student stage itself helps develop responsible financial behavior in the future.

Similarly, discussions were held on the importance of the relationship between mentors and students in students’ personal and professional development, and proper guidance. Students were informed that the practice of taking timely guidance from experienced and trustworthy individuals, asking questions, accepting suggestions, and putting learning into practice helps make correct decisions and move toward one’s goals.

During the program, students discussed their curiosities, future plans, and career-related thoughts with the speakers. The bank expects that such programs will help students develop financial awareness, practical life skills, and a clear vision for the future along with textbook knowledge. Kamana Sewa Development Bank has been continuously promoting financial awareness, responsible financial behavior, and life skills development among students, youth, and communities through various initiatives related to financial literacy and corporate social responsibility programs.
