Banking News – Former President and senior leader of CPN (UML) Bidya Devi Bhandari has stated that efforts should be made to move forward by resolving problems in the industrial sector for the expansion of industries and businesses in the Lumbini region. She said this while speaking at a welcome program organized in Butwal, Rupandehi, on Tuesday. She emphasized the need to focus on resolving problems in the area through consultations with industrialists and businesspersons.

Leader Bhandari also stated that the construction of an international airport, an international convention center, and road infrastructure in the Lumbini region is an important achievement. Recalling that she had received the responsibility of party Vice Chair for the first time in Lumbini itself, she stated that she is happy to be active in this same area again as a senior leader.

Bhandari expressed happiness that CPN (UML) nominated her as senior leader and stated that the process of formally fulfilling the responsibility is yet to be finalized. She said:

“I was first given the responsibility of party Vice Chair from this same international convention center. At that time, it was discussed that we should build this place into an international convention center, a sports ground, and other infrastructure. And all of that has now been fulfilled. It is a matter of happiness for all of us. Today, an international airport has been built here, an international convention center has been built, and a good road has also been built.”

She added:

“Now, how do we move industries and businesses forward? We need to move forward by consulting with friends involved in industries and businesses and resolving problems in the industrial sector. Lumbini, already famous in the world, has become even more famous after all these structures were built.”

She stated that she does not want to be called a senior leader herself but that everyone has been saying so. The recently concluded CPN (UML) Central Committee meeting had nominated Bhandari as a senior leader. This is her first visit outside the valley after being nominated as a senior leader.
