Fake Letter on Share Sale in the Name of Hathway Investment, Investors Urged to Remain Cautious

Banking News – Hathway Investment Nepal Limited has clarified that a letter claiming that company shareholder Ambika Prasad Poudel had expressed intent to sell 15 lakh units of shares is fake. The company clarified that the letter is not official and urged investors not to be confused. The company stated that the letter titled “Regarding Sale of Shares” addressed to Nepal Stock Exchange Limited, mentioning Chalani No. 35/3/64, dated 2083/06/11, is fake.

The letter had stated that company shareholder Poudel had informed the company of his intent to sell 15 lakh units of shares within the next three months. According to the company, the letterhead, chalani number, stamp, and signature of the company secretary used in that letter have been used in an unauthorized manner. The company has clarified that it has not received any such application, notice, or information from Poudel expressing intent to sell 15 lakh units or any other quantity of shares.

The company has stated that it has initiated the process of filing a written complaint on this matter with the Securities Board of Nepal and Nepal Stock Exchange Limited. The company has also clarified that official information related to the company will be made public only through the company’s website and official information system. Hathway Investment has urged shareholders and investors not to make any decisions based on unverified information and documents circulated on social media and other means.
