Banking News – A total of 186 families of Bateshwar Rural Municipality 3 and 4 (formerly Bateshwar VDC Ward Nos. 1 to 9) in Dhanusha have received land ownership certificates (lalpurja) about nine years after the completion of the survey. Local families who had been living as landless residents for a long time have now formally obtained legal ownership over their land. The Survey Office Dhanusha has completed the necessary process and distributed land ownership certificates to them.

The survey work of the area was completed in 2074 BS. However, although the survey map was completed, land ownership certificates could not be distributed for a long time due to the failure to complete necessary legal and administrative procedures. Advancing the process that had been stalled for a long time, 186 land ownership certificates have now been distributed.
With the receipt of land ownership certificates, the ownership over the land of families who had been living as landless residents has been established. After landless land is registered and land ownership certificates are distributed, local residents will be able to obtain legal and economic benefits.
After receiving the lalpurja, it will be easier to obtain loans by mortgaging land in banks and financial institutions. Similarly, with the ownership of the land becoming clear, it will also be easier to resolve land-related disputes. Previously, 4,554 families in Dhanusha had received lalpurja.
