Banking News – Nepal Rastra Bank has called an international tender to mint and supply 30 crore units of two-rupee circulating coins. The Currency Management Department of Nepal Rastra Bank, issuing a notice on Monday, has sought sealed bids from pre-qualified security minting companies for the design, minting, supply, and delivery of the coins.
Bid documents can be purchased until November 3, 2026, with a fee set at Rs 20,000, or 131 USD, and 115 Euros. In the single-stage two-envelope system process, technical and price proposals must be submitted separately.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on October 16, 2026, at 12 noon at the Currency Management Department in Thapathali. The deadline for submitting bids is November 4 at 12 noon, and the opening time is set for 1 PM the same day.
Bidders must submit a bid security equivalent to at least 132,000 USD, which must be valid for 120 days from the date the bids are opened. The central bank has stated that blacklisted companies and individuals associated with them will not be allowed to participate in the process.
