Banking News – On the second day of Tihar, Sunday evening, Laxmi Puja is being observed by worshiping Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. Today, Diwali is observed especially by cleaning various places in the house including windows, doors, verandas, rooms, thresholds, terraces, attics, and balconies. The night of Kartik Krishna Aunsi, when Laxmi is worshiped, is also called Sukharatri.
For Laxmi Puja, paths for Laxmi are shown this evening by smearing the courtyard, main door, and the room where Laxmi is established with cow dung and red soil, and making Laxmi’s footprints with rice flour and abir. Each footprint is illuminated by lighting diyos on banana stems or clay palas.
After performing Diwali, Laxmi is established in the puja room along with a diyo, kalash, and Ganesh, and Laxmi is worshiped with proper rituals by offering ornaments, money, paddy, rice, fruits, sel roti, and flower garlands. After Laxmi Puja, there is a tradition of worshiping young girls and daughters as symbols of Laxmi and giving them dakshina.
There is a religious belief that if wealth or other items are sent outside the house after performing Laxmi Puja at home today, Laxmi will leave. Today, Kukur Tihar is also being celebrated by worshiping and honoring dogs, which provide security in homes, and feeding them delicious food.
According to religious scholar Prof. Dr. Ramchandra Gautam, there is a religious belief that if dogs are fed delicious dishes on Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi, the dogs named Shyam and Sabal, who guard the gates of Yamaraj, will let the path be cleared when going to the underworld. There is a religious belief that the dog born in the lineage of Vaivaswat Manvantara also accompanied Dharmaraj Yudhishthira on his journey to heaven. Dogs are considered loyal and reliable domestic animals for security. The number of people who believe that keeping a dog at home prevents heart disease and diabetes is also increasing.
