Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized the government’s commitment to leveraging science and technology to make life easier and more straightforward. Speaking at the ‘International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI)’ organized by the Youth Association of Nepal, Prime Minister Oli highlighted the need to use AI for development, progress, and a better quality of life.

“We are plagued by a thirst for development. Let’s bring forward the concept of a Digital Nepal. We must positively harness the potential of artificial intelligence. We also need to focus on awareness and legal measures to prevent the negative impacts that can arise from its misuse,” said Prime Minister Oli.

He noted the need to address the rising failure rates among students in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), stressing the importance of exploring how AI can be utilized in this area. “We are focused on how to make Nepal a center for AI education,” he added, also announcing plans to introduce policies and strategies related to artificial intelligence.
