Kathmandu – As of the end of October in the fiscal year 2081/82, life insurance companies in Nepal have collectively accumulated over NPR 41 billion in insurance premiums. According to data from the Nepal Insurance Authority, life insurance companies operating in the country generated a total of NPR 41.08 billion in premiums during the first three months of the fiscal year, issuing 13.35 million policies in the process.
Among these companies, Nepal Life collected the highest amount, with total premiums reaching NPR 11.99 billion, representing 29.19% of the life insurance market. National Life ranked second, collecting NPR 4.09 billion in premiums and holding 11.94% of the market share.
LIC Nepal followed in third place with NPR 4.57 billion in premiums, accounting for 11.13% of the market. Himalayan Life earned NPR 4.31 billion in premiums, while Surya Jyoti Life collected NPR 2.49 billion, holding 6.08% of the market.
Asian Life gathered NPR 2.03 billion in premiums, representing 4.96% of the market share. Citizen Life followed closely with NPR 1.74 billion, holding 4.25% of the sector.
Sanima Reliance Life amassed NPR 1.57 billion, accounting for 3.83% of the market, and Met Life secured NPR 1.44 billion in premiums, making up 3.51% of the life insurance sector. Rastriya Jeevan Bima Company collected NPR 1.4 billion, representing a 3.42% share.
Additionally, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life collected NPR 1.24 billion in premiums, holding 3.02% of the market. IME Life collected NPR 1.21 billion, with a 2.96% share, while Reliable Nepal Life earned NPR 1.2 billion, accounting for 2.94% of the market.
Finally, Sun Nepal Life gathered NPR 932.7 million in premiums, representing a 2.27% market share.
