Banking News – Among community schools operating across the country, 85.4 percent have internet facilities. According to the Ministry of Education and Sports, internet facilities have reached 85.4 percent of community schools. Similarly, 29.6 percent of community schools have expanded information technology (IT and ICT) laboratories.

Under the “Presidential Educational Reform Program” running since 2077 BS, ICT labs have been constructed in 4,608 schools, according to the ministry. 69.6 percent of schools have electricity access from alternative sources. Across the country, including religious schools, 35,951 schools are in operation. Among them, 27,010 are community schools.

In terms of school infrastructure, under the post-2072 earthquake reconstruction, the construction of 7,667 schools has been completed, while an additional 14 schools are under construction. The ministry has stated that among schools damaged by the earthquake in western Nepal, 216 schools are being reconstructed with support from the government and various development partners. Under additional infrastructure development, 12-room buildings are being constructed in 36 schools with more than two thousand students.
