Banking News – A collaboration has been established between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) and cloud accounting platform Tigg with the objective of expanding the use of digital technology in the accounting sector. The collaboration agreement was signed by CA Bimal Dangol, Executive Director of ICAN, and Ramesh K.C., Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tigg.
Tigg CEO Ramesh K.C. stated that the agreement will help accounting professionals and students become familiar with modern cloud accounting systems and support the development of their practical digital skills. Similarly, ICAN Executive Director Bimal Dangol expressed confidence that collaboration with world-class software developed within Nepal will further encourage the use of digital technology in the accounting sector. According to him, through this collaboration, accounting professionals will get the opportunity to work on digital systems, and students will be able to gain practical experience in modern accounting systems.

Under the collaboration, eligible ICAN member firms will be able to use Tigg’s Basic Package free for life. Similarly, eligible students under ICAN will be able to use Tigg’s “Student Edition” for study and practical exercises.
Member firms receiving free access will be able to use Tigg for their own organization’s accounting and financial management. Through this, cloud-based accounting management, role-based user access, VAT and TDS management, preparation of financial and accounting reports, bank reconciliation, and other tasks can be performed.
Member firms registered with ICAN must apply online by creating a demo account in Tigg and converting it to a lifetime free version. After the application is received, verification will be done based on ICAN membership details. Tigg has stated that after verification is completed, the concerned demo account will be converted to the free version.
Similarly, through the “Student Edition” available for ICAN students, they will be able to practice accounting processes including transaction entry, financial reporting, VAT, and TDS. This is expected to help students gain practical experience of modern accounting systems along with theoretical study. The Student Edition will be available only for study and practice. It cannot be used for professional accounting management of clients or other businesses, resale, or other commercial purposes.
According to Tigg, at a time when the accounting sector is moving toward cloud systems, automation, real-time financial information, and digital collaboration, it is necessary to familiarize accounting professionals and students with such technologies. The collaboration between ICAN and Tigg is expected to contribute to developing a technology-friendly and digitally capable accounting community in Nepal.
