Banking news – Nakheel Gorkha Football Club, based in Abu Dhabi, clinched the championship title at the 2nd Joyalukkas Exchange Dharan Helping Hands Football Tournament 2025. In the final match held at Dulsco Arena, Dubai, the team defeated Green City Ilam 2–0 to secure the prestigious trophy.

The tournament was jointly organized by Dharan Helping Hands and Dharan United Club UAE, coordinated by the UAE Nepalese Football Association, and primarily sponsored by Joyalukkas Exchange UAE. It is regarded as one of the tournaments with the highest prize money within the Nepali community in the UAE.
The champions, Nakheel Gorkha, received 8,411 dirhams, while runners-up Green City Ilam bagged 4,411 dirhams. Dharan United FC was awarded the Fair Play Award.
During the post-match award ceremony, trophies and prizes were distributed to the winner and runner-up teams. Program Coordinator Swikar Rai and Dharan United Club UAE President Ishwar Shrestha jointly presented tokens of appreciation to the chief and distinguished guests.

One of the major highlights of the event was the special recognition of 12 individuals for their significant contributions to the development of Nepali football in the UAE. Those honored included:
Anil Sherpa, Mukti Gurung, Kul Lepcha, Raju Tamang, Suraj Bik, Suman Limbu, Swikar Rai, Mandhoj Ale, Khemansingh Gurung, Gupt Shekhar Paudel, Ajay Magar, and Durga Bahadur Thapa.
Green City Ilam also excelled in the individual categories, securing titles for Best Coach, Best Player, Best Midfielder, and Best Striker. Additionally, the awards for Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, Best Manager, and Best Defender were presented to standout performers of the tournament.

The chief guest of the event was Morris Karn, General Manager of Joyalukkas Exchange. Distinguished attendees included Deputy Consul General Krishna Prasad Chapagai from the Nepali Consulate, NRNA Middle East Youth Coordinator Nirajan Silwal, NCPM UAE President Laxman Khanal, NRNA UAE General Secretary Nawaraj Shrestha, INAS UAE President M.D. Bohora, UAE Nepal Football Association President Anil Sherpa, NRNA UAE Secretary Suman Bhandari, Nepal Association General Secretary Kumar Shrestha, and Secretary Lok Bahadur Shrestha, among others, making the event grand and vibrant.
The organizers announced that the tournament held with the support of various Nepali business enterprises in the UAE will continue next year as well. According to them, the event has played a vital role in promoting Nepali sports in the UAE, enhancing talent recognition, strengthening community unity, and boosting enthusiasm for football among the Nepali diaspora.
