Banking News — Professor Ian Lim of Singapore is set to deliver a special address at the Third Insurance Discourse 2026, jointly organized by Banking News and News of Insurance.

Lim, who is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lexiser Financial Group, brings over three decades of experience in the insurance sector. He has been associated with the Singapore Insurance College as a professor since 1998.

The Insurance Discourse 2026 will be held on January 21, 2026 (Magh 7, 2082 BS) at the Yak & Yeti Hotel, Kathmandu. The event will be attended by representatives from regulatory bodies, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, insurance experts, and distinguished personalities from various sectors.

Key discussion themes of the Discourse include bancassurance: policy, regulation and market realities; access to healthcare and the future of health insurance in Nepal; insurtech innovation and transforming insurance from a necessity into a lifestyle choice in Nepal; and the future roadmap for restructuring and transforming the insurance industry to meet the needs of a modern lifestyle.

In addition, a special session titled “The Economics of Insurance” will be held, with Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, participating in the discussion.

The Insurance Discourse has previously been successfully organized in 2023 and 2025, and the upcoming third edition is expected to further strengthen policy-oriented dialogue and strategic thinking in Nepal’s insurance sector.
