Cabinet Approves Key Appointments and Policy Decisions


Banking News — Nepal’s Council of Ministers has approved a series of appointments and policy decisions during its meeting held on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.

Government spokesperson and Sasmit Pokharel announced that the Cabinet appointed Hikmat Bahadur Rawal as the new General Manager of the Gorkhapatra Corporation. The Cabinet also appointed Devaraj Dhungana as Executive Director of the Security Printing Centre.

The meeting also approved the transfer of eight Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) of the Nepal Police.

Among its international commitments, the Cabinet approved the submission to the Federal Parliament of the agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement) under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for ratification.

The Cabinet further approved the Education (Tenth Amendment) Regulations, 2083, as well as the National Integrity Policy, 2083 and the National Advertising Policy, 2083.

In addition, the meeting endorsed a bill to amend and repeal certain finance-related laws and approved its submission to the Federal Parliament.

The Cabinet also appointed Dharmaraj Khadka as Executive Director of the Distinguished Structures Operation and Management Development Committee and approved the First Amendment to the Kamaiya Labour (Prohibition) Regulations, 2083.
