Banking News – Traffic police in the Kathmandu Valley took action against 2,176 motorists for violating traffic rules over the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 1.062 million in revenue from the enforcement drive.

According to Naresh Prasad Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the offenders included 81 drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 101 involved in unauthorized ride-sharing, 159 who violated traffic signals, and 202 caught overspeeding.
In addition, 92 motorists were penalized for failing to maintain lane discipline, 110 for using horns in prohibited areas, 110 for illegal parking on footpaths, 66 for driving on one-way roads, and 1,255 for other traffic rule violations.
The traffic enforcement campaign generated a total of Rs 1,062,000 in government revenue, according to the Traffic Police Office.
