Banking News – Nepal’s Council of Ministers has approved the registration of nine bills in the Federal Parliament, covering amendments to existing laws and the introduction of new legislation.

The decisions were made during a Cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday. Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmita Pokharel announced the meeting’s key decisions.

According to the minister, the Cabinet approved the following bills for submission to the Federal Parliament:

1. Bill to Amend the Constitutional Bodies Office-Bearers’ Remuneration, Terms of Service and Facilities Act, 2053 (1997).
2. Bill to Amend and Consolidate Laws Related to Mines and Minerals.
3. Bill on the Control of Infectious Animal Diseases.
4. Bill to Amend the Passport Act, 2019 (2076 BS).
5. First Amendment Bill to the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act.
6. Bill on the Prohibition and Regulation of Child Labour.
7. Bill on the Liability of Domestic Air Services.
8. Bill to Amend the Mediation Act, 2068 (2011).
9. Bill to Amend the Employees Provident Fund Act, 2019 (1962).

The Cabinet also decided to designate the Director General of the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, or an official authorized by the Director General, as the investigating authority for offences related to foreign exchange violations.

In addition, the Cabinet made the following decisions:

• Appointed Khet Raj Dahal of Sindhuli as a member of the Problematic Cooperatives Management Committee.
• Approved the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2083 (2026).

The government said the decisions are aimed at strengthening Nepal’s legal, administrative, and regulatory framework across multiple sectors.
