Banking News – Nepal Mediciti Hospital is set to invest Rs. 1.70 billion to establish a state-of-the-art cancer treatment department, significantly expanding its oncology services and strengthening access to specialized cancer care in Nepal.

According to the hospital, the new investment will enhance its capabilities in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and specialist medical services, with the goal of providing world-class oncology care within the country and reducing the need for patients to seek treatment abroad.

The hospital’s latest financial statements show that it generated Rs. 2.059 billion in revenue during the first nine months of the last fiscal year. Improved business performance, coupled with Rs. 70 million received from insurance claims, increased the hospital’s cash reserves to Rs. 333 million.

Nepal Mediciti Hospital currently operates a 247-bed facility, offering a wide range of specialized healthcare services. It is also recognized as Nepal’s first hospital accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) International, reflecting its commitment to international healthcare quality standards.

The planned investment in advanced cancer treatment infrastructure is expected to expand access to specialized oncology services across Nepal while reinforcing the growing role of private sector investment in the country’s healthcare industry.
