Banking News – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Mahalaxmi Development Bank Limited, which has been providing quality financial services, and the Rotary International District 3292 – Basic Education and Literacy Committee to collaborate in the education and literacy sector. According to the agreement, Mahalaxmi Development Bank will provide financial support under its corporate social responsibility for various educational and infrastructure development projects to be operated through Rotary Clubs with the objective of promoting basic education and literacy in community and public schools.

Under the support, the bank will collaborate for projects focused on construction and improvement of toilets in community and public schools, operation of drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene-related projects, establishment of computer labs, and improvement of the educational environment of schools.

Mahalaxmi Development Bank has been conducting various programs in the fields of education, health, environment, and social development under its corporate social responsibility. The bank believes that this collaboration will contribute to improving the learning environment, sanitation, and digital access of students studying especially in community and public schools. In the course of fulfilling its responsibility toward society, the bank recently provided financial assistance to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund with the objective of supporting relief, rescue, and rehabilitation work for citizens affected by the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli River.
