Banking News – A total of 648 climbers from 69 countries have obtained permits for climbing various mountains in Nepal in the autumn season. According to information provided by the Department of Tourism, 648 climbers from 69 countries have been granted permits to climb 20 mountains in Nepal in the autumn season of 2026. Information Officer Suraj Ghimire of the Department informed that the permit holders include 71 groups, comprising 485 males and 163 females.

Among the permit holders are 17 from Australia, 16 from Canada, 21 from Japan, 18 from India, 41 from the United States, 38 from the United Kingdom, 15 from Spain, 13 from Switzerland, 57 from Russia, 19 from Poland, 20 from Nepal, and 118 from China. Similarly, the Department stated that there are 34 from Germany, 51 from France, seven from Belgium, five from Bulgaria, 16 from the Czech Republic, and seven from Argentina.
Similarly, climbers from other countries have also obtained permits. The Department has collected Rs 23 crore 89 lakh 64 thousand 298 in royalty from climbers for granting climbing permits. Among the mountains for which climbing permits have been granted, Manaslu (8,163 meters) has the highest number. For Manaslu climbing alone, 500 climbers from 43 teams have obtained permits. The Department has collected Rs 22 crore 58 lakh 57 thousand 189 in royalty from them.
According to the Department, 34 individuals from four teams have obtained climbing permits for Dhaulagiri-1, 20 individuals from two teams for Putha Hiunchuli, 16 individuals from two teams for Danga Hiunchuli, and 10 individuals from one team for Baruntse Himal.
Similarly, the Department has stated that permits have been granted for mountains including Makalu, Gangapurna West (Langchenel), Thorong Peak, Norbu Khang, Annapurna-4, Chamlang, Lamjung Himal, Pumori, Saribung, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), Pokhar Khang, Ardang, and Peri. The Department has earned $15 lakh 71 thousand 659 USD, or Rs 23 crore 89 lakh 64 thousand 298, from the climbing permits issued for those mountains.
