The amount of dividends taken out of Nepal by foreign investors has decreased. Compared to the same two-month period of the previous fiscal year (2080/81), the current year’s dividends have diminished.

In the current fiscal year 2081/82, foreign investors have taken out NPR 79.22 crore in dividends, service charges, and royalties during the months of Shrawan and Bhadra. This is lower than the same period last year.

In the previous fiscal year’s two-month period, foreign investors had taken out NPR 85.68 crore from Nepal. This year’s amount is NPR 6.46 crore less. Additionally, foreign investors did not take service charges out of Nepal last year.

The decline in dividends may be attributed to the slowdown in economic activities in Nepal, which has affected the revenues of most multinational companies, potentially leading to reduced profits and, consequently, lower dividends sent abroad.
