Banking News – Kamana Sewa Development Bank has received a “CARE-NP BBB Minus (Issuer)” rating. Looking at this, the bank has been found to have upgraded its credit rating.

CARE Ratings Nepal Limited had previously provided the bank with a “CARE-NP BB Plus (Issuer)” rating, and this time it has been increased to “CARE-NP BBB Minus (Issuer).” According to the rating agency, an institution receiving a “CARE-NP BBB Minus” rating is considered to have moderate-level protection regarding timely payment of financial obligations and to bear moderate-level credit risk.

According to the bank, the rating upgrade was based on factors including improvement in the bank’s capital fund, progress seen in loan quality management, experienced Board of Directors and management team, improvement in profit, business expansion, improvement in deposit structure, strong liquidity, and market share.

The bank expects that the improvement in rating will further strengthen trust in the bank among depositors, borrowers, shareholders, investors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. The bank believes this will also help the bank mobilize resources at competitive costs and expand institutional deposits and business partnerships.
