Banking News – Global IME Bank Limited has been honored with the “Best Bank Award 2026” presented by the prestigious international financial magazine “Global Finance.” With this, the bank has been honored with Global Finance Magazine’s Best Bank Award for the third consecutive year. Global IME Bank had also received the same award from Global Finance in 2024 and 2025.

At a special ceremony organized in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, representatives of Global Finance handed over the award to Deputy Chief Executive Officers of the bank, Suman Pokharel and Dipchandra Regmi. Global Finance has stated that the bank was awarded based on key factors including the capacity for financial resource mobilization, institutional credibility, geographic and digital access expansion, strategic business partnerships, customer-friendly innovation, successful use of modern technology and artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable lending, and strong risk management.

At the ceremony, major financial institutions from around the world, including the Asia-Pacific region, were also awarded. Among them, internationally renowned banks including Bank of China of Hong Kong, State Bank of India of India, ICBC of China, Global IME Bank of Nepal, UOB Malaysia of Malaysia, City Bank of Bangladesh, and MUFG Bank of Japan were honored in various categories.

This honor has encouraged Global IME Bank to provide even more excellent services. For this honor, the bank has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank and other regulatory bodies, shareholders, employees, and all customers who have supported the bank’s progress from various aspects. Global IME Bank is the first Nepali bank to be honored with this prestigious award from Global Finance. Global Finance presents this prestigious award to the world’s best central banks and commercial banks.

Along with this award, Global IME Bank, which has been honored in various national and international categories due to modern technology and excellent customer service, has received titles including Bank of the Year 2014, Best Internet Bank 2016, and consecutively Best Bank Nepal in 2024, 2025, and 2026. The bank has also received prestigious awards including Euromoney Award for Excellence 2022, 2024, and 2025, Best Bank ESG Nepal 2024, and Best Employer.

Global IME Bank is the first commercial bank in the private sector to successfully expand its network to all 77 districts of the country.
