Banking News – Following the diplomatic initiative and dialogue of Minister for Health and Food Safety Nisha Mehta, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has agreed to provide assistance equivalent to Rs 8 arab 59 crore 19 lakh 68 thousand for Nepal’s National Immunization Program until 2030.
Additionally, Gavi has also succeeded in having $308,271 waived — the amount it had demanded back from Nepal after pointing out procedural errors during the audit of the regular immunization program from fiscal year 2016/17 to 2021/22.
The support and waiver facilitated through Minister Mehta’s initiative will make a significant contribution to strengthening the financial management of Nepal’s National Immunization Program.

At a time when pressure on global development aid and financial resources is increasing, securing this assistance and having the outstanding amount waived is an important achievement in making the continuity, access, and effectiveness of immunization services sustainable by protecting children and targeted populations in Nepal from communicable diseases.
