Banking News – Chairman of Shram Sanskriti Party and lawmaker Harka Sampang has stated that citizens in remote areas must receive services and facilities equally. He said this while participating in programs organized in Adanchuli and Sarkeghad Rural Municipalities.
He said:
“Due to unequal distribution of services and facilities provided by the state, basic services including education, health, and transportation are centered in cities. This is the reason the number of citizens living in rural areas is decreasing.”
He stated that if time-appropriate essential services and facilities can be made available in all areas, people can live wherever they are. On the occasion, he also expressed commitment to ending the compulsion of crossing rivers via tuin (wire bridges). It has been stated that lawmaker Sampang’s visit is connected to the construction of a suspension bridge over the Karnali River at Khadikhet in Sarkeghad Rural Municipality-2.

After the matter of local citizens being forced to cross the river using a risky tuin at that location became public in the media and social media, he had expressed commitment to constructing a suspension bridge. The process of moving forward with the construction of a suspension bridge at that location through a non-governmental organization called Kaduri has already been decided. In such a situation, the actual status of the bridge construction, when the work will begin, and when the compulsion for locals to cross the river via tuin will end are matters of interest. In the remote Himalayan district of Humla, citizens have been suffering from various problems for years due to the lack of roads, bridges, and basic services.
