Lawmakers Urge Government to Address Landless Settlers, Inflation, and Governance Issues


Banking News – Members of Nepal’s House of Representatives on Wednesday urged the government to take stronger action on landless settlers’ issues, inflation control, and good governance during the parliamentary session.

Opposition Nepali Congress lawmaker Geeta Gurung called on the government to implement a long-term solution for landless settlers, curb rising inflation, revive the sluggish economy, and restore public confidence through effective governance.

CPN-UML lawmaker Gangadevi Shrestha urged the government to resolve the Nepal–India border dispute through diplomatic efforts.

Similarly, NCP lawmaker Mahendra Bahadur Shahi stressed the need for political parties to move beyond accusations and counter-accusations and work together to fulfill the public’s aspirations for prosperity.

Shram Sanskriti Party lawmaker Ambikadevi Sangraula said that both the ruling and opposition parties share responsibility for protecting citizens’ lives and property, urging the government to uphold the rule of law.

Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Tahir Ali Bhat urged the Speaker to play a leading role in ending the parliamentary deadlock and ensuring the smooth functioning of the House.

Before the session formally began, opposition lawmakers staged a protest from their seats, briefly disrupting proceedings.
