Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that the future of the population is intrinsically linked to newborns, during the inauguration of the 6th Asian Population Conference. Marking the event, PM Oli welcomed a newborn girl as a symbolic representation of the future and conveyed his wishes for the health and well-being of both mother and child via video call.
The conference, running until November 30, features the participation of over 600 demographers from various countries.
The event, hosted by the Central Department of Population Studies (CDPS), will showcase 17 thematic papers. A special Nepal session is scheduled for the final day of the conference.
