Banking News – Nine individuals, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Deputy Chairman Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana, have been arrested and will remain in custody on charges of inciting violence during Friday’s protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu. Among those detained are religious leader Pushkar Khatiwada, United People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy spokesperson Swagat Nepal, and Shahi Yuwa Shakti Nepal Chairman Pashupati Khadka. They will face charges of “crimes against the state.”

The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has announced that all nine individuals will be presented before the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday to seek an extension of their custody. Authorities have classified them as “hardcore elements” responsible for instigating the protest and are preparing to file multiple charges, including attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, arson, organized crime, and homicide.

In connection with Friday’s incident, police have arrested 113 people so far. Following an initial screening, additional charges will be filed against other detainees based on their level of involvement.

The protest, which called for the restoration of the monarchy, turned violent, resulting in two deaths, acts of vandalism, and arson. Law enforcement officials have accused Durga Prasai of orchestrating the unrest, and he remains at large.
