A pro-monarchy group caused damages and looting worth over Rs 8.33 million


Banking News – A pro-monarchy group caused damages and looting worth over Rs 8.33 million at the Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket in Koteshwor last Friday.

According to reports, the group, which had earlier set fire to a building in Tinkune, proceeded to Koteshwor, where they vandalized the supermarket building and vehicles by hurling stones. The attackers then stormed the premises and looted various goods.

Authorities have since apprehended those involved in the vandalism and looting, with legal proceedings underway.

Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket has reported that the damage to the building amounts to Rs 1.185 million, while goods worth approximately Rs 6.488 million were destroyed. Additionally, a freezer and a showcase worth Rs 265,000 were damaged, and Rs 94,000 in cash was stolen.

The supermarket has filed an insurance claim for the total amount of the damages.
