The 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show, currently underway at Bhrikutimandap, has seen a sharp rise in visitors, with nearly 48,684 people attending in the first two days, according to organizers.

On the opening day, 19,706 visitors attended the show, while the second day drew 28,978. The NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA) said festive-season discounts and the display of cutting-edge technologies have been the main attractions for the public.

The event features over 125 automobile and related brands, showcasing everything from tires and batteries to four-wheelers. Most brands are offering special discounts, and visitors can also book vehicles directly at the venue.

Highlights of this year’s exhibition include the Unitree robotic dog, advanced four-wheeled robots, and the Deeple eVTOL flying taxi. Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal visited the show on Wednesday, where he was briefed about the flying taxi and posed for photographs inside it.

NADA General Secretary Surendra Kumar Upreti said visitor turnout has exceeded expectations. “This is Nepal’s only auto show where visitors can explore vehicles, accessories, batteries, lubricants, banks, insurers, and other services under one roof,” he said, adding that discounts announced during the show make it a major attraction.

Event coordinator Anup Kumar Baral said new technology has helped draw significant interest, especially from students in engineering and information technology. “Within two days, more than 48,000 people have already visited,” he said, noting that daily attendance is expected to keep rising.

Organizers estimate the show will attract more than 100,000 visitors by its conclusion on August 24 (Bhadra 8). The exhibition runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
